We're excited to announce the successful conclusion of the Tangle Leaderboard Campaign that incentivized validators to run nodes and earn points towards the genesis distribution of TNT tokens. This campaign has been an incredible milestone, processing over 900,000 blocks and peaking at 800 validators, making Tangle the 5th largest Substrate chain by node count.
As we prepare for Tangle Network's mainnet launch on April 10, 2024, a final snapshot of the leaderboard standings was taken as of 11:00 AM EST on March 27, 2024. This snapshot will be used to determine the allocation of genesis TNT tokens to the 1,126+ participants who contributed to securing the network during this campaign period.
In the genesis supply of 100 million TNT, 5% or 5 million tokens are allocated to airdrop pools rewarding early supporters and community members:
These airdrop recipients follow a 2-year vesting schedule with a 1-month cliff period. 5% of tokens are immediately liquid, with the remainder released monthly after the cliff. This vesting approach, combined with the upcoming staking rewards, incentivizes long-term participation as we build the future of decentralized privacy through Tangle's robust multi-party computation solutions.
